Integrating Circular Economy in Service Design for Sustainability

The module on “Circular Economy” led by Erwan Mouazan. PhD, equips our service design students with the knowledge and skills to incorporate circularity into their practice. Through a combination of theoretical content, case studies, and practical exercises, participants have begun gaining insights into addressing sustainability challenges and leveraging circular economy principles.

The module began by exploring sustainability challenges and introducing frameworks that support the transition process. He emphasized the role of design in shaping sustainability transitions. Participants delve into circularity thinking, gaining a deeper understanding of the circular economy’s theoretical foundations and its relevance to service design and business model innovation.

Following this module, the students will begin their 3 day circular sprint with Erwan during their Sustainable Design pill.
