With over 40 years of ICT experience in the international and humanitarian sector, Lucio has a profile that combines deep technological skills with extensive experience in the United Nations and other governmental and non-governmental organizations. He has held various senior management roles, including 8 years as head of ICT Operations and Cybersecurity at the UN Refugee Agency.

Throughout his lengthy career, he has successfully managed many digital transformation projects for large UN agencies, contributing to strategic vision and organizational change management while managing project components for ITC and logistics even in extreme situations such as operations in refugee camps and war zones.

Lucio has always been passionate about emerging technologies. He has experienced all the major IT transitions of the last four decades, from personal computers, the Internet, to today’s pervasive mobile computing. He is internationally known in the VR and Metaverse sector since the 1990s, and in the last 10 years has implemented various Artificial Intelligence based systems, particularly in Cybersecurity. He has lived and worked on all continents and is bilingual in Italian and English.
