The XII Edition takes off with Service Design Basics!

Today marked the beginning of the students’ learning journey in the Specializing Master in Service Design, as Francesca Foglieni introduced them to the basics and tools of Service Design.

This first module laid the foundation for the program, offering a mix of lectures, discussions, and hands-on exercises. Students explored the core concepts of service design, delving into the definition of a service, its elements, and the processes that make it work. They also reflected on the transition towards a #ServiceEconomy, the service-dominant logic, and the various paradigms of service innovation.

The session provided a glimpse into the history of service design and its evolution, while also introducing students to the principles of service design and design thinking. Highlighting the multidisciplinary nature of the field, the class emphasized how diverse perspectives enrich the design process and foster innovation.

With this solid starting point, our students are ready to dive deeper into the upcoming modules, building the skills and mindset needed to shape the future of service design.
