Let's celebrate the outcomes of "The future of work", the workshop with Bludigit - Italgas

It is time to celebrate the groundbreaking and forecasting project that our teams have completed for Bludigit – Italgas’ Digital Factory, our outstanding customer. Yesterday, students had the opportunity to present their proposals directly to the team’s principals who launched the brief.

We left off with suggested directions encouraged by the Bludigit team. Therefore, the students treasured them and started building on them, in order to create a strong scenario, that envisions and visualizes, in concrete terms, the desired future, and the linked implementation strategy.

During this last week of scenario development, they defined the essential aspects that create the solution (roles, organization, journey, and backcasting) using a descriptive technique such as fictional narratives, news from the future, regular reporting, etc. to immerse the audience in the developed future. Going into detail, the teams adopted some useful tools for proposal development, such as detailed scenario canvas, ideal experience journey, and high-level backcasting, in order to mold a scenario experience journey.

The last few days have focused on making the presentation immersive, thanks to contrivances such as role-play or wizard of oz, the use of videos and mockups, with the ultimate goal of experiencing tomorrow’s future of work.

Students imagined what the future of work looks like in a game, and the main goal is to have fun, and then, other students found that in addition to having an agile system, it is important to invest and advocate the value of human development. What’s more, they showed the importance of communication within the digital factory, with the opportunity to have ‘safe bubbles’ in which to enrich and train. Finally, the challenges of the future tell not only about technology but mental-health too, avoiding burnout, and embracing the vulnerabilities as driving forces.

Special thanks go to the contributions bestowed by the orchestra consisting of Chiara Monteleone, Erica Moreti and Lesley Ann Culla, and, last but not least, the Bludigit team, including Marco Barra Caracciolo (President & CEO at Bludigit), Laura Baffari (Head of Experience Design at Bludigit – Digital Factory) Gianmarco Pulga (Head of Digital Factory at Italgas), Manuela Millàn (Product & Strategic Designer at Bludigit) and Alessandro Foti (User Experience Designer at Bludigit)
